Brian Lloyd

Chairman of the Board

Brian has an MBA, a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a Chartered Engineer with a background in project management of major capital projects and general management of several engineering businesses.

Brian joined Active in 2000 as Director with the company turning over just £350k annually. He was appointed Managing Director in 2001 with a combined group turnover of £2.5m.

Since then and with the formation of Active Integrated Supply Limited, the business has gone from strength to strength establishing an excellent reputation in industrial engineering services and integrated supply with many blue-chip clients in its portfolio.

Following a restructuring in 2014 involving the management, Brian became Chairman and is still actively involved in the business at board and senior management level.

Richard Bennell

Managing Director

Richard is an experienced leader and director, joining Active in early 2014 with a remit to grow the business through customer retention and new business acquisition. A significant part of his time is spent with customers to ensure that their voice is represented strongly at board meetings.

With a broad industrial and commercial background in manufacturing, business services (BPO) outsourcing and the financial services sectors Richard is Six Sigma certified and as a registered Prince2 Practitioner, brings a wealth of project management and process improvement experience to Active.

Previously, Richard has held board and general management positions and has served as a trustee on a national charity board.

Ian Whinray

Ian Whinray

Operations Director

Ian has over 30 years’ experience within the MRO distribution sector and joined Active in 2009 as Business Development Manager.

Since his arrival he has contributed significantly to the rapid growth of Active’s integrated supply business. With a background in both business and key account management, Ian ensures that the business remains focused on exceeding our customers’ expectations, championing the fact that the customer is at the heart of everything we do.

Ian’s laser like customer focus has recently resulted in Active securing a new 5 year agreement with one of our major customers.

Vance Heath

Vance Heath

Purchasing Director

Vance has been with Active since 2012 when he joined as Purchasing Manager.

He adopts a strategic approach to projects and has an impressive track record delivering cost savings within indirect goods and services procurement, managed through our in-house Active Buyers Guide.

Specialising primarily in the aerospace, automotive, energy and rail sectors, he also has experience in the food & beverages, construction and pharmaceutical fields.

Vance’s other areas of expertise include OEM critical spares analysis, process improvement initiatives and service contract negotiation.

James Hegarty

James Hegarty

Commercial Director

James joined Active in 2003 as a Buyer and has worked through various roles as the company has grown, including Purchasing Manager, Operations Manager and more recently Commercial Director.

During this time he has overseen many major projects, most notably the design and implementation of our management systems, ISO 9001 accreditation and the programme management of our SAP system implementation.

James is a MCIPS member and currently undertaking a CIMA qualification. His wide range of experience in purchasing, manufacturing, logistics, operations and finance has proved invaluable over the years.

Amar Gulzar

Head of IT

Amar has worked in a number of different IT environments and gained extensive technical and commercial experience. Because of this he has been able to successfully deliver a variety of technically complex and diverse projects during his time with us.

Combining his IT and Business Management qualifications, Amar has successfully led the business through the implementation of our SAP system and has further developed our systems capabilities with software that allows Active to interact seamlessly with our customers MRP systems.

His work takes him outside the day to day development of our system and he has been instrumental in specifying and delivering test environment stock management systems for our customers (hosted at Active).

Alexandra Lloyd

Purchasing Manager

Alex joined Active in 2009 and has worked in a variety of fields including purchasing, account management, HR, insurance, payroll and transport and internal sales.

She has been instrumental in implementing policies and procedures for the company and the purchasing department and played a significant role in the development of Active’s buyers guide. Her background in sales and customer service means that she brings a natural customer focus to the company, making it a priority to ensure our customers needs are always met. In 2015 Alex was promoted from Senior Buyer to Purchasing Manager, where she leads our internal purchasing team.

Alex strongly believes that understanding the needs and requirements of end users is key. Simplicity, responsiveness and efficiency is at the core of her management style and she encourages a high standard of customer service within her team on a daily basis. Alex is trained as an ISO 9001 auditor for the company and is currently working towards her CIPS qualification. She has experience in MRO, PPE, tooling and consumables in the aerospace, automotive, nuclear and power industries.

Nick Meyers

Nick Meyers

National Operations Manager

Nick joined Active in June 2015 and brings with him a decade of MRO industry experience.

Nick has experience successfully managing large-scale outsourced MRO operations for a range of UK blue-chip manufacturers.

By advocating and implementing proprietary inventory management solutions including VMI agreements, PPM support, PI and usage analytics – Nick has optimized his clients’ MRO operations.

His successes translate into benefits to the bottom-line, exemplified by the superior inventory accuracy record in the teams he has led. This means his clients can concentrate on running their business, outsourcing their non-core activities for real benefit.

Linsey Cousins

Linsey Cousins

Project & Implementation Manager

Linsey is an experienced Project Manager with strong organisation, systems and administration skills. With her keen eye for detail, she drives continuous performance improvements through system and process pressure testing, major systems selection and deployment, process re-engineering, the creation of ‘easy to use’ user documentation and engaging end user training.

Linsey seeks solutions by keeping things simple and is a qualified investigator / interviewer (APCIP), Prince2 Practitioner and established operational systems ‘super user’.

She thrives on new challenges and is passionate about her personal development constantly up-skilling her ‘toolkit’ so that she can continue to execute and deliver projects for our customers.

Site based staff

Active Integrated Supply

Active employ a number of personnel based at our customers site(s), including Stores people, Site Coordinators, Buyers and Project Managers. Our on-site staff have an enviable record of delivering significant savings whilst providing outstanding service.

All our staff are assessed for the necessary relevant experience and aptitude using competency based selection processes. Our customers are always consulted during the recruitment process.
